It's not a legal obligation for a vendor to have a return policy, so depending on who you are working with, you may in fact be SOL.
The real solution here is for redfarsi (who has a lengthy history of being an idiot on here, by the way) to admit that he attempted to exploit an obvious error out of his own greed and return the item, and for Z1 to eat anything lost on the first order that shipped. Both parties bear some accountability in this case IMHO.
